Visual Culture in the Mass Media
This is an opportunity to examine your visual culture, especially the mass media portion of it. What kind of clothing do you wear, what type of fast food do you eat, and what kind of electronics do you purchase? How do you think that marketing and advertising play a role in what your consume? How does the design of a product's logo influence what you wear? How do you think that these companies target you as their consumer? This is your chance to look deeper into yourself as a consumer and gain a stronger understanding of why you make the choices in your purchases.
Summary of Findings
Based on your findings write a brief summary (2-3 sentences on each of the 5) companies you chose that explains your findings. If you found the logo that your researched is a subsidiary company, explain who the parent company is, and what other company(s) does that parent company own? If the logo that you researched is a parent compnay what other subsidiary company(s) does it own?
